What is Chained Beasts?
Chained Beasts is a 1-4 player co-op gladiator roguelike from Australian studio Featherweight Games. You and up to three friends enter the Colosseum physically chained together, then fight, throw and drag your way toward freedom. The chain is not a gimmick — it defines every dodge, every sprint and every mistake, which is why the game swings so hard between brilliant teamwork and total slapstick disaster.
It launched on October 15, 2026 for Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, and joined Xbox Game Pass on day one. The full release spans three arena chapters — Carthage, the frozen wastes of Germania, and finally Rome — where you face the game's toughest boss, Praefectus, backed by his Praetorian Guard. Between fights you train skills, buy weapons, and pick up permanent wounds and 70+ afflictions that change how your gladiator moves, sees and thinks in the next run.
